Hit the Road, Jack update – visiting chef in the house!

I’ve found many people engage with my posts about the lifestyle of my home in the small town of Healdsburg in Sonoma County. My updates about the social scene there which centers on friends gathering to share food, wine, cocktails and a true sense of community resonate with so many of my kindred spirits online. The seemingly endless stream of pizza, cocktail, entree & vino bottle pics get a LOT of thumbs up from you folks!

I’m fortunate enough to count among my close friends a number of world class chefs, winemakers & wine geeks, cocktail masters & restauranteurs which make for some of the best potluck dinners imaginable. All of these folks take their craft every bit as seriously as any musician I’ve known and are constantly honing, learning & experimenting which makes me a very willing guinea pig.

On the “Hit the Road, Jack” adventure which centers on visiting my Facebook friends who I have never met in real life and reconnecting with friends from the past, I really want to share the lifestyle I enjoy at home with my friends around the world. So the plan is to pick a town along the way, invite friends from the area who are separated by a degree or two and have never met outside of Facebook. One of my chef friends will join us to prepare a rustic, family style Healdsburg meal – which means fresh seasonal, sustainable ingredients simply prepared -complete with wine from the Dry Creek/Alexander Valley area.

On upcoming legs we’ll be making a dinner gathering part of the Kickstarter funding offers. Imagaine! A world class wine country chef cooking in your home for you & a few friends!
